MASTERING WHAT MATTERS
18th Annual Conference
Saturday, 9 March 2024
Today, there is more disorder in our world than ever before. Disorder in our government, schools, and even in our own families. And while some things are beyond our immediate control, we can start the process of change by bringing order to our family life, work, prayer life, and our own minds. But to do so, we need to master ourselves.
Kevin O’Brien is the President of North America Publications and the CEO of Best Version Media. Kevin enjoyed a pro football career from 1993 to 1996 when he began searching for God. That led him everywhere—except the Catholic Church. But then, a powerful confession finally brought him home. Kevin has been married to Leslie for 23 years and are blessed with seven children. In 2006, Kevin co-founded the MEN OF CHRIST® apostolate, one of the largest Catholic men’s conferences, the Catholic Men’s Leadership Alliance, an apostolate to unite all Catholic men’s ministries, and Virtue Sport, an apostolate that uses sports to build character in children. In response to growing disunity in 2020, he created Unite Our Nation to bring Christ into the streets through Eucharistic processions.
Sam Blair is a former Navy SEAL officer with over a decade of experience leading elite teams around the globe. Our good friend Archbishop Jerome Listecki will celebrate Mass at the Schoenstatt Retreat Center in Waukesha, Wisconsin, and begin our day with prayer. We’ll approach self mastery from an organizational perspective in a talk by Dave Durand, an entrepreneur, author, and radio host. Sam Blair, former Navy SEAL and management consultant will provide insight on mental preparedness and gaining focus. Fr. Mark Bernhard will discuss self mastery in terms of the spiritual warfare that we face and must keep from devouring our families. Kevin O’Brien, Men of Christ co-founder, will close the conference with practical advice about men supporting one another and holding each other accountable. Joining, or starting, a men’s group at your parish is the perfect way to become a better son, man, father, mentor and patriarch.
